Common questions about myAffidavit's AI-assisted affidavit and witness statement drafting software, local document processing, family court use, exports and user responsibilities.

Privacy & Security

Does my data ever leave my computer?

The desktop product is designed to process the documents and exhibits you work on locally on your device. This is separate from website, contact and order information; see our Privacy Policy for detail.

Does my data train your models?

Document content is handled by the desktop product locally. Website analytics are separate and Google Analytics is used only if you consent to analytics cookies. See the Privacy Policy and AI Policy for the respective scopes.

Do I need an internet connection to use the app?

No. Drafting, verification, and export work offline. You'll only need internet for initial activation and to download updates (optional).

Pricing & Payments

Is it an annual subscription or a one-time cost?

One-time license. No monthly fees. Updates included for the supported lifetime of the product.

What's the price in my currency? Do you charge VAT?

Checkout shows your local currency. VAT is charged where applicable (e.g., UK/EU). The price you see at checkout includes any required taxes.

Refunds and delivery guarantee?

Your statutory consumer rights are separate from our voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee, which begins on delivery. If we miss the stated delivery date for the pre-order, you may request a full refund. See the Refund Policy for the full terms.

Licensing & Installation

How many devices can I install on?

One license = installation on 1 primary Windows device. If you replace your machine, you can transfer the license (deactivate, then activate on the new device).

Which operating systems does myAffidavit support?

The desktop affidavit software supports Windows 10/11 and Linux. macOS and Chromebook are not currently presented as supported platforms.

Court Compliance & Output

Will courts accept a document drafted with AI?

Only the court can decide how a document is treated. myAffidavit provides drafting assistance, but does not guarantee acceptance or compliance. You must check the facts, wording and applicable court directions before signing or filing.

Which jurisdictions or practice rules are supported?

myAffidavit is intended for affidavit and witness statement drafting in England and Wales. You remain responsible for checking the current court rules, forms, practice directions and any case-specific directions before signing or filing.

What formats can I export?

PDF (print-ready) and Microsoft Word (.docx) (editable). We keep exports text-based (not images) so e-filing systems can read them.

Does the app include a Statement of Truth or Jurat?

Yes, myAffidavit includes helper text for statement of truth (witness statements) and jurat/attestation (affidavits). The exact wording depends on your chosen preset and is editable.

Can I manage exhibits and cross-references?

Yes, add exhibits (A, B, C…), captions, and in-text references. The export includes an exhibit index and pagination checks.

Using the Software

What is AI affidavit software and how does myAffidavit work?

AI affidavit software assists with preparing a document draft. myAffidavit asks guided questions, helps organise your account and suggests structure or wording. You review the result and export it to Word or PDF; it is not legal advice or a filing service.

Can I make an affidavit online?

You can find online affidavit generators and templates, but myAffidavit takes a different approach. It is desktop software for Windows 10/11 and Linux, and document content is processed locally rather than uploaded to a browser-based cloud AI service.

Can I use it to prepare a family court affidavit?

It can help organise a family court affidavit or witness statement draft for England and Wales. It does not determine what evidence you should give or guarantee compliance or acceptance; check the court's current requirements and seek legal advice where appropriate.

Do I have to be a legal professional to use myAffidavit?

It is intended for people drafting their own affidavit or witness statement. It provides drafting assistance, not legal advice or a professional review. If you are unsure what is required, seek independent legal advice.

What is AI-assisted drafting?

The app may suggest structure and wording. AI can make mistakes and there is no human or solicitor review, so you must verify every output, your facts and the court requirements before use.

Is there a limit to how many affidavits I can create?

No cap. Create as many statements/affidavits as you like on your licensed device.

Can I create a witness statement with AI?

myAffidavit provides AI-assisted witness statement drafting as well as affidavit drafting. It can help organise a draft, but it does not guarantee the document meets court requirements; check the facts, applicable directions and wording yourself.

Support & Legal Disclaimer

Is this legal advice?

No. myAffidavit is formatting and drafting assistance. For legal advice, consult a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction.

How do I back up or move my work?

Your files are regular documents stored on your device. Use your normal backups (e.g., external drive). You can also export a project bundle.

How do I contact support?

Use the website contact route or email info@myaffidavit.ai. Please do not send sensitive documents or case materials by email unless a secure method has been agreed.

Technical & Legal Details

What is a Witness Statement and how is it structured?

Short numbered paragraphs, personal details, statement of facts, exhibits, statement of truth, signature/date. The app templates follow this structure and apply the preset you choose.

What is a Statement of Truth?

It's your confirmation that the facts are true to the best of your knowledge and belief. myAffidavit suggests wording variants by preset; you can edit the text.

How do exhibits work?

Each exhibit is tagged (A, B, C…), captioned, and referenced in the text. The app builds an exhibit index and checks for missing references.

Affidavit vs Witness Statement: what's the difference?

A witness statement typically uses a statement of truth; an affidavit is sworn/affirmed before an authorized witness using a jurat/attestation. Formatting, numbering, and exhibits are similar; the app supports both.
